Mississippi State Adds Diego Duran to Men’s Tennis Roster

STARKVILLE — Mississippi State men’s tennis coach Matt Roberts announced the signing of Diego Duran on Thursday. Duran, a native of San Salvador, El Salvador, transfers to Starkville from the University of West Florida.

At West Florida, Duran established himself as one of the top Division II players in the country. He earned All-American honors in singles and doubles and finished the season ranked second in the ITA Division II singles rankings.

He posted a career singles record of 64-16 and a doubles record of 65-22. Duran was also named the Gulf South Conference Player of the Year for 2026. Prior to college, he attended CMA Academy in Indiana, where he was ranked among the top 300 junior players worldwide.

Duran has represented El Salvador on the national team and brings significant international experience. His addition bolsters a Mississippi State program that has advanced to NCAA quarterfinals and remains competitive in the SEC and nationally, under coach Matt Roberts.
