Mississippi College Freshman Jusino-Lansing Named GSC Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Freshman of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Gulf South Conference announced its weekly awards for men’s outdoor track and field for events held from April 13-19. Tristan Jusino-Lansing, a freshman at Mississippi College, was named the GSC Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Freshman of the Week.

Jusino-Lansing claimed victory in the 110-meter hurdles at the UAH Rocket City Invitational, running a time of 14.28 seconds in the preliminaries and 14.41 seconds in the finals, according to the conference. He also competed in the 4×400-meter relay, helping his team finish with a time of 3:19.61.

He currently leads the GSC in the 110-meter hurdles, according to the conference. Other weekly nominees included Gage Whited of Lee and Zak Ferguson of Montevallo, but Jusino-Lansing was selected as the top freshman performer.

Conference awards have recognized top performances throughout the season, with winners including athletes from Montevallo, Mississippi College, Lee, and UAH. The recognition highlights the rising talent among GSC’s emerging student-athletes.
