Mississippi College Sweeps GSC Outdoor Track Awards, Earns 22 All-Conference Honors

CLINTON, Miss. — Mississippi College’s men’s and women’s track and field teams earned a combined 22 All-Gulf South Conference honors and four annual awards following the 2026 outdoor season, the conference announced Tuesday.

The Choctaws secured three of the four men’s awards. Gabe Hodson was named GSC Track Athlete of the Year, Jake McMillan received Field Athlete of the Year, and Tristan Jusino-Lansing was selected as Freshman Athlete of the Year. On the women’s side, Rebekah Zweerink was voted GSC Field Athlete of the Year.

Hodson, who won the 800 meters at the GSC Championships in a meet-record 1:49.37, became the third consecutive Choctaw to earn the track athlete honor. He also contributed to Mississippi College capturing the conference title in the 4×400-meter relay. McMillan won the decathlon with a school- and meet-record 6,974 points, and finished second in the 110-meter hurdles. Jusino-Lansing captured the freshman award after winning the 110-meter hurdles, running on the championship 4×400 relay team, and placing second in the 4×100 relay and third in the 400-meter hurdles.

Zweerink earned her first GSC Field Athlete of the Year honor since 2023. She finished second in the discus with a school-record throw of 44.87 meters and scored in the shot put and hammer throw events.

Mississippi College totaled 12 men’s All-GSC honors, including seven first-team selections and five second-team honors. Notable first-team selections included Jusino-Lansing (110-meter hurdles), Hodson (800 meters), and McMillan (decathlon). The women’s team earned 10 honors, with two first-team selections—Haylei Mason (400-meter hurdles) and Lauren Wallace (800 meters)—and eight second-team honors, including Rebekah Zweerink (discus throw) and Madison Flugence (100-meter hurdles).
