Mississippi College Baseball Players Named to CSC Academic All-District Team
CLINTON, Miss. — Mississippi College baseball players Alex Johnson, JT Thigpen, Cade Gadman, and Ty Murphy were named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, the school announced Tuesday.
The program honors student-athletes who excel academically while contributing significantly to their teams. To qualify, nominees must maintain at least a 3.50 GPA and meet athletic requirements during the season, according to CSC.
All four players helped lead the Choctaws to a second consecutive Gulf South Conference Tournament appearance. It marked the third straight year with multiple players earning all-district honors. Mississippi College finished the season with a 28-24 overall record and a 21-12 mark in the GSC, including back-to-back series wins over Delta State, the first-ever in Cleveland.
Academic All-District recipients now advance to the CSC All-America ballot, with the teams scheduled to be announced June 23, the school said.
Gadman, Johnson, Thigpen, and Murphy are listed as follows: Gadman, a senior infielder, stands 6 feet tall; Johnson, a senior infielder, is 6 feet 2 inches; Thigpen, a junior outfielder, is 6 feet; Murphy, a junior outfielder, also is 6 feet tall.
