Four Belhaven Baseball Players Named to CSC Academic All-District Teams
Jackson, Miss. — Four Belhaven University baseball players have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Teams, the school announced Tuesday.
To qualify, student-athletes must be at least sophomores academically and athletically, maintain a minimum 3.5 GPA, and participate in at least 90% of their team’s contests or start 66% of them. Schools can honor up to six athletes per sport.
The recognized players from Belhaven are Gunner Staten, a sophomore left-handed pitcher; Nick Thornton, a junior outfielder; JD Weed, a senior outfielder; and Kaleb Smith, a sophomore right-handed pitcher.
The CSC All-District teams highlight the top student-athletes nationwide who excel both on the field and in the classroom. The program also selects All-America teams in four divisions: NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA.
