Four Millsaps Student-Athletes Named to CSC All-District Track and Cross Country Teams for 2025-26
Greenwood, Ind. — Four student-athletes from Millsaps College have been selected to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Men’s and Women’s Track & Field/Cross Country Teams, according to a Tuesday announcement.
The honorees include sophomores Laken Day, Claudia Dempsey, Molly Northam and Greer Hernandez. The awards recognize top student-athletes nationwide for their athletic performance and academic excellence. To qualify, nominees must maintain at least a 3.5 GPA and meet regional performance standards in their respective sports, excluding relays.
Day, a Lafayette, La., native, made her first appearance on the All-District team with a 3.56 GPA. She is majoring in Exercise Science and has been named to the Dean’s List four times. Day competed in five meets during her sophomore year, with a notable third-place finish in the javelin at the Rhodes 7-Way Meet, where she threw 28.40 meters (93 feet, 2 inches). She plans to pursue a Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree after graduation.
Dempsey, an accounting major from Piedmont, Ala., earned recognition with a 3.52 GPA. She has appeared on the Dean’s List twice and the SAA Academic Honor Roll three times. Dempsey ranks fourth in Millsaps’ outdoor track and field record books in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. She placed third at the Southern Miss Invitational and fourth at the Rhodes 7-Way Meet, with times that rank her in regional performance lists.
Northam, a biology major with a 3.88 GPA, is also a member of the women’s basketball, cross country, and track teams. She boasts a perfect 4.0 GPA for Spring 2025 and has been named to the Dean’s List and President’s List twice. Northam finished fourth in the javelin at the Rhodes 7-Way Meet and ranks 22nd regionally in the event after the SAA Outdoor Championship. She also competes in the high jump, where she holds the 40th spot in the South Region.
Hailing from Broussard, La., Hernandez made a notable debut at the 2026 SAA Outdoor Championships by winning the 10,000 meters with a school-record time of 32 minutes, 7.12 seconds. His performance earned him first-team All-SAA honors and marked him as the 11th conference champion in Millsaps history. Hernandez also finished 10th in the 5,000 meters and set indoor personal bests in the 3K and 5K during the 2025 season. His rankings across regional performance lists reflect his strong sophomore campaign.
