Mississippi College Baseball Players Earn All-GSC Honors

CLINTON, Miss. — Mississippi College baseball players Ty Murphy and Cade Gadman received second-team All-Gulf South Conference honors, the league announced Wednesday.

Murphy, an outfielder, has started all 50 games this season. He is batting .322 with a .460 on-base percentage, 55 hits, 40 runs scored and 23 RBIs. He also has 26 stolen bases and 28 walks, making him one of the team’s most consistent offensive threats, according to the league.

Gadman, a utility infielder, appeared in all 50 games at multiple positions. He hit .304 with 63 hits and 35 RBIs, both team highs. He also scored 33 runs for the Choctaws. Murphy has played at three infield positions, including second and third base, as well as shortstop.

This marks the first all-conference honors for both players. They are the 26th and 27th All-GSC selections under head coach Jeremy Haworth. Mississippi College returns to action Saturday, May 2, facing No. 25 West Florida in the GSC Tournament in Oxford, Alabama. First pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m.
