Mississippi College Baseball Opens GSC Tournament Against West Florida
Clinton, Miss. — Mississippi College baseball will make its 11th Gulf South Conference Tournament appearance Saturday, May 2, in Oxford, Alabama. The Choctaws will face West Florida at Choccolocco Park with first pitch scheduled for 11 a.m., according to the school.
This marks MC’s fourth postseason appearance since returning to NCAA Division II and its second consecutive tournament appearance. The last back-to-back appearances occurred in 2018, when the team won the conference title at Delta State.
The tournament features six teams competing in a double-elimination format from May 2-5. This is the second time MC and UWF have met in the postseason. Their first meeting was in 2017 in Cleveland, Mississippi, with UWF winning 9-6.
Mississippi College has a recent record of splitting its last 10 meetings with UWF since 2023, including winning the first two games of a series in Clinton earlier this season before losing the finale.
General admission tickets are $10 per day, with children 5 and under admitted free. Tickets are available online and at the gate. Parking costs $5 per day and is cash only. The tournament will be streamed on FloCollege and FloSports apps for iOS, Android, and smart TVs. Fans with a .edu email from a GSC school can access discounted pricing.
