Mississippi Christian volleyball is hitting the road again for its second tournament of the season. The team travels to Arkadelphia, Arkansas, for the Reddie-Tiger Invitational, where it will face four opponents over two days.
The Choctaws enter the weekend 0-4 after opening the season at the Dallas Classic. They faced four nationally competitive teams, including No. 7 Nebraska Kearney. Mississippi Christian lost to Biola, Colorado Mesa, Nebraska Kearney and Dallas Baptist but gained valuable experience early in the season, according to team sources.
The team’s first matches in Arkadelphia are set for Friday. They will face Erskine at 1 p.m. and host Ouachita Baptist at 5 p.m. On Saturday, the Choctaws will play UT Tyler at 9 a.m. and Missouri S&T at 3:30 p.m. All matches are scheduled to be played at the Reddie-Tiger Invitational site.
Senior middle hitter Rhaia Davey and sophomore middle blocker Holland Williams have been strong at the net early in the season. Senior libero Samarin Kipple has led the team defensively, recording 11 digs against Biola. Freshman middle blocker Aubrie Lay contributed four blocks in that match.
The weekend presents another opportunity for Mississippi Christian to build chemistry and improve consistency against teams from multiple conferences. UT Tyler is the strongest opponent, entering the weekend 4-0 after victories at the SAU Tournament. Missouri S&T also comes in unbeaten at 2-0, hitting .265 as a team and averaging 12.9 kills and 12.1 assists per set in their first two matches.
After a demanding start in season-opening tournaments, the Choctaws aim to turn experience into results. They will again face four matches in a 24-hour span, seeking to establish their identity early in 2026. The team hopes to use this weekend to continue developing as they prepare for upcoming matches.
