Millsaps Women’s Basketball Earns WBCA Academic Honor Mention
The Millsaps College women’s basketball program was recognized Tuesday by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association with a 2025-26 Academic Special Mention. The team was ranked with 118 other squads across NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA for its 3.189 cumulative GPA, according to the WBCA.
The WBCA Academic Top 25 and Special Mention lists honor women’s college basketball teams with the highest GPAs in their divisions, based on all student-athletes’ academic performance for the season. To qualify, teams must have a combined GPA of at least 3.0 and be nominated by their head coach, who must be a WBCA member. This marks the 31st year the WBCA has compiled these honor rolls.
“The WBCA is pleased to recognize those women’s basketball programs that have committed themselves to excellence on the court and in the classroom,” WBCA Executive Director Danielle Donehew said. “The 119 ranked teams we honor this year across all five collegiate divisions strive to achieve all-around success, and we commend their efforts. Congratulations!”
The Majors finished the 2025-26 season with a 21-8 record and were conference postseason champions for the second time in program history. They also earned a spot in the 2026 NCAA Tournament. Senior Elyse Warren was named a WBCA NCAA Division III Coaches’ All-American Honorable Mention on March 19. The Memphis native was also voted the 2025-26 Southern Athletic Association Woman of the Year.
Ten student-athletes from the team earned spots on the 2026 SAA Spring Academic Honor Roll. Additionally, three scholar-athletes received their undergraduate degrees during Millsaps College’s 2026 Spring Commencement.
