Millsaps Golf Duo Earns NCAA Division III Cobalt All-America Scholar Honors
Norman, Oklahoma — Two Millsaps College golfers have been named to the 2025-26 NCAA Division III Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars Team. Julius Kroell, a rising senior, and Charlie Berglund, a rising junior, received the honor for the first time in their college careers, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced Monday.
Kroell, from Munich, Germany, maintained a 3.59 GPA and was named to the 2026 Spring Dean’s List. He posted a career-best 1-under 71 at the Space City Classic in Houston and helped Millsaps finish strong in the 2025-26 season. Kroell tied for 21st at the Cochran Collegiate and finished tied for 35th at the SAA Golf Championships, where he shot an even-par 72 in the final round.
Berglund, from Falun, Sweden, boasts a 3.88 GPA while majoring in Health & Exercise with minors in Biology and Psychology. He was named to the CSC Academic All-District Men’s At-Large Team and has been recognized multiple times on Millsaps’ academic honor rolls. During the fall season, Berglund earned SAA Men’s Golf Athlete of the Week honors after tying for seventh place at The Refuge Golf Course, marking his first top-10 finish. He also serves on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and helped Millsaps finish fourth in the final event of the fall.
To qualify for the Cobalt Scholar award, student-athletes must be a sophomore, junior, or senior in NCAA Division III, with a minimum GPA of 3.2, participate in at least half of their team’s rounds, and have a stroke average below 79.0. A total of 261 athletes from 95 schools received the honor this year, with Calvin College leading Division III with six recipients.
Cobalt Golf, the sponsor of the award, produces premium laser rangefinders for golfers. The Golf Coaches Association of America, established in 1958, supports collegiate golf coaches and recognizes achievement in academics, athletics, and civic engagement. Millsaps College, founded in 1890 in Jackson, Mississippi, is known for its liberal arts education and has been recognized by numerous national rankings.
