Kam Beverly, Veronica Williams Named C Spire Athletes of the Week

Jackson, Mississippi — Belhaven University announced that Kam Beverly and Veronica Williams have been named C Spire Athletes of the Week. The awards recognize their strong performances in recent games for the Blazers.

Beverly, a junior forward from Jackson, averaged 12.6 points and 2.6 rebounds over three games last week. He highlighted his week with a career-high 22 points on 10-of-12 shooting against Piedmont, including several dunks, according to the school.

Williams, a senior guard from Philadelphia, Mississippi, averaged 16.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, and three assists per game during the same span. She has scored in double figures in her last four games, the school said.

The Blazers will face Asbury University tomorrow, with the women’s game scheduled to tip off at 4 p.m. CST and the men’s game at 6 p.m. CST.
