Eight W Athletics Student-Athletes Named to SLIAC Spring All-Academic Team
Eight student-athletes from The W Athletics’ spring sports teams have been named to the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference’s (SLIAC) All-Academic Team, conference officials announced. To qualify, athletes must be at least sophomores, have completed one full academic year, and maintain a minimum 3.50 GPA, according to the conference.
The baseball team led the Owls with five All-Academic selections, while men’s golf, women’s track and field, and softball each had one recipient. The honorees for the 2026 spring season included Will Carter, Campbell McCluney, Charles Poag, Griffin Fuller, and Matthew Windham from baseball; Hannah Owens from women’s track and field; and Kaitlyn Bearley from softball.
In total, 211 student-athletes earned All-Academic honors this spring, marking the third straight year that over 200 athletes received the award. It is the first time in conference history that this milestone has been reached in three consecutive years. Over the entire academic year, 562 student-athletes earned honors, the fourth-highest total in conference history.
The awards recognize student-athletes from sports that held championships during the spring season, including baseball, men’s golf, softball, and men’s and women’s track and field.
