Maryanna Guy Named NFCA Division III Second Team All-American

Jackson, Miss. — Maryanna Guy received her first national recognition in her first season with Belhaven softball, earning a spot on the NFCA Division III Second Team All-America list, according to the school.

Guy, a junior transfer from NCAA Division I Longwood, is the fourth player in program history to earn NFCA Division III All-America honors. Her selection extends Belhaven’s streak to five consecutive seasons with at least one All-American.

The third baseman and outfielder led Division III with a .419 batting average, 65 hits, 16 doubles, 11 home runs, 57 RBIs, 116 total bases, a .748 slugging percentage, and a .495 on-base percentage, according to the school.

She helped Belhaven secure a second straight CCS Tournament title and continued her offensive production during NCAA postseason play. In the Belhaven Regional, she hit .364 with a home run and five RBIs as the team advanced to the Super Regional round.

In the Jackson Super Regional against Wisconsin-Oshkosh, Guy hit a three-run home run to help the Blazers clinch a spot in the NCAA Division III Finals, their second appearance in three seasons.

She joins Kennedy Carruth, Allie Gordon, and Ellie Jones as the program’s only NFCA Division III All-Americans. Recent honorees include Ellie Jones and Allie Gordon, both first-team selections, and Carruth, a first-team pick in 2021.

Belhaven enters the NCAA Division III Finals with a 42-10 record after winning the CCS Championship, the Belhaven Regional, and the Jackson Super Regional. The No. 7 seed will face No. 2 seed and defending national champion Trine University on Thursday at 3 p.m. CT.
