Delta State University men’s golfer Ty Werynski has been named to the first team All-Gulf South Conference, the conference announced Monday. Werynski is the first Delta State golfer to earn first-team honors since Zach Zediker achieved the feat in 2019.

The Burlington, Ontario native had an impressive first season with the Statesmen after transferring from the University of Memphis. He posted a 71.3 scoring average over 24 rounds and recorded six top-five finishes individually.

Werynski also claimed titles at the 2025 Derrall Foreman Invitational and the 2025 Samuel Dunning Invitational. He is scheduled to compete in the NCAA Division II South/Southeast Regional in Valdosta early next week.

His performance marks a significant milestone for the program, ending a seven-year drought for first-team All-GSC honors. The golfer stands at 5 feet 8 inches tall and is considered a rising star for the Delta State golf team.
