Delta State Hosts Mississippi College for Senior Day Series at Ferriss Field
Weronika Kaczmarska, Cleveland, Miss. — The Delta State University baseball team (26-17, 19-11 GSC) will host Mississippi College (26-21, 19-11 GSC) this weekend for their last regular-season series at Boo Ferriss Field. The games are scheduled for Friday at 2 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m., with senior day festivities taking place before Saturday’s opener.
The series is critical for both teams, as they are tied for third in the Gulf South Conference standings. The outcome will help determine seeding for the upcoming GSC tournament, according to the school.

Adrian Byrd, a senior left-handed pitcher, has a 1.79 ERA over 11 starts and 70.1 innings. He leads the GSC with 82 strikeouts. Tucker Jones, a junior outfielder, is hitting .363 with 57 RBIs, nine home runs, and 29 stolen bases in his first season with the team.
Austin Batts has been on a seven-game hitting streak, batting .324 with six doubles and a triple. Levi Lang provided a spark during last weekend’s sweep of AUM, going 6-for-9 with three home runs and eight RBIs in two games, helping the offense score 25 runs in total.
Mississippi College’s offensive leaders include Alex Johnson, who is batting .294 with 12 home runs and 45 RBIs, and Will Langston, who is hitting .337 with 14 doubles and nine homers. On the mound, Coby Gollott has a 4.68 ERA with 77 strikeouts across 65.1 innings.
