Coahoma Track Athlete Shacora Jurden Heads to NJCAA Nationals for Second Time
CLARKSDALE, Miss. — Shacora Jurden of Coahoma Community College is headed to the NJCAA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships in New Mexico for the second time, the college announced.
Jurden placed seventh in the long jump and fifth in the triple jump at the Maroon & White Last Chance Meet on May 1, 2026. The meet served as a final tune-up, even though she had already secured her spot at nationals, according to college officials.
She qualified for nationals through a strong season of competition and has established herself as one of the top athletes in the region. Last year, Jurden finished seventh in the triple jump at the national meet in Kansas, earning NJCAA All-American honors in her first season.
Jurden aims to surpass her previous performance and bring pride to Coahoma as she competes against the nation’s best. The sophomore continues to demonstrate her talent and determination as she prepares for the upcoming championship.
