Boulay, Kaplan Named to SEC Community Service Team
Mississippi State track and field athletes Gabrielle Boulay and Caleb Kaplan have been named to the Southeastern Conference Community Service Team, the conference announced Thursday.
Boulay, a cross-country runner from Franklin, Tennessee, has been active in the Starkville community. She co-founded a chapter of “Run Your City” in Starkville, an organization aimed at promoting running among local youth, with the help of the Bulldogs’ cross-country team.
Kaplan, a hammer thrower from Rye, New York, participated in several community service events during his time at Mississippi State. Notably, he engaged with local youth through the Starkville Library Reading program.
Both athletes, juniors on the track and field team, concluded their seasons at the SEC Championships last month. They hold spots in the program record books, with Boulay contributing to cross-country and distance races, and Kaplan excelling in the hammer throw.
