Belhaven Men’s Golf Team Ranks Seventh After Two Rounds at CCS Championship
The Belhaven men’s golf team stands in seventh place after the first two rounds of the CCS Championship at Dalton Golf & Country Club, according to team sources. The Blazers posted a team score of 75 over par (+75) on Monday, with rounds of 35 and 40 on the front and back nine holes.
In the opening round, John McIntosh and Levi Turner led Belhaven with scores of 78 (+6) and 80 (+8), respectively. McIntosh shot a 35 on the front nine, while Turner was 1 over par after nine holes. Gannon Williams finished the first round with a score of 78, and the team showed consistency in avoiding major mistakes early on.
Round two proved more difficult for the team. Andrew Scherer posted the lowest score of the day for Belhaven with a 79 (+7), improving his overall standing to 28th. John McIntosh added an 80 (+8), moving into 17th place overall. Andrew Rogers shot an 84 (+12), while Levi Turner and Gannon Williams finished at 85 (+13) and 90 (+18), respectively.
Despite the increased scores, the Blazers remained within reach of the top teams heading into the final round. Williams is 30th overall at +24, Turner is 26th at +21, and Scherer is 28th at +22. McIntosh sits in 17th place at +14, with Rogers in 35th at +35.
