Alcorn Football Players Named to BOXTOROW Preseason All-America Team

Lorman, Miss. — Alcorn State football players Eric Thomas Jr. and Demetrion Duvall have been named to the BOXTOROW HBCU Preseason All-America Team, announced Monday. This marks the 20th season of the team, which is selected by media members covering HBCU football.

Thomas, a junior defensive lineman from Columbus, Mississippi, stands 6 feet 3 inches and weighs 245 pounds. He finished the 2025 season with 26 tackles, including 14 solo stops, in 12 games. He also recorded 6.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, four quarterback hurries and a fumble recovery. Thomas is one of 15 programs represented among the 30 selections on the team.

Duvall, a junior punter from Akron, Ohio, is 5-11 and 185 pounds. He ended the 2025 season with 49 punts for 2,093 yards, averaging 42.7 yards per kick. His longest punt was 63 yards against Florida A&M. Duvall placed 14 kicks inside the 20-yard line and had 13 punts of 50 yards or longer, tied for second in the league.

The preseason team also named Alabama State quarterback Andrew Body as the top quarterback after he was named BOXTOROW National HBCU Offensive Player of the Year in 2025. South Carolina State was picked by media members to repeat as national champions.
