North Pontotoc downs Booneville to sweep way to state championship series
The North Pontotoc Vikings used a pair of big innings in their North Half series against rival Booneville to advance to the state championship series.
In Game one, the V-men put up 5 runs to break open a scoreless game en route to a 7-0 victory.
In game two, it was a 7 run 4th inning highlighted by a Corley Hooper homerun that sealed the game en route to a 13-5 victory.
Jake Reeder pitched a complete came 3 hitter to take the victory in game one while James Clay McGregor drew the start and the victory in game two.
The Vikings move on to take on West Marion for a state championship.
