The Western Carolina University men’s golf team finished eighth at the Fire Hawk Invitational held in Athens, Alabama. The team posted rounds of 300, 296, and 298 for a total score of 894.
Aubrey Jones led the Crusaders, opening with a 1-over-par 73. He maintained his steady play throughout the tournament, shooting a 74 in both the second and third rounds. Jones finished tied for 23rd with a total of 221 strokes.
Ethan Holway improved in the final round, shooting a 1-over 73 after opening with a 75 and 74. He finished tied for 28th with a total of 222 strokes. Jace Crain also had a strong finish, ending tied for 33rd after rounds of 76, 74, and 74 for a total of 224.
Lorenzo Ligabue shot rounds of 74, 77, and 75, finishing tied for 40th with 226 strokes. Chance Elston improved in the final round with a 73 after opening with 78 and 76, ending tied for 45th at 227. Max Seidemann completed the team scoring, finishing with a total of 233 strokes.
