Hickory Flat Lady Rebels advance to championship of Ripley Holiday tournament

The Lady Rebels of Hickory Flat are advancing to the championship of the Ripley Holiday tournament on Saturday night after defeating Aberdeen 58-44.

In a game of back and forth scoring runs, the Lady Rebels got a 13-0 first quarter blitz thanks to R’Daztiny Harris and her 8 first quarter points and a 15-6 lead.

The second quarter saw Marrie Simmons come alive with 10 of her 12 points leading Hickory Flat to a 32-22 advantage.

A back and forth 2nd half saw the game tied at 32 to start the 3rd period. From there on out, Harris took over.

The dynamic guard poured in 17 second half points to close out the game and secure the win. Harris finished with 28 points.

Hickory Flat will play the host Ripley Lady Tigers for the championship at 5:30 on Saturday.
