Rebels’ Davis 11th overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft

Becoming the seventh Ole Miss women’s basketball player to hear her name called in the WNBA Draft, the New York Liberty selected Marquesha Davis with the 11th overall pick in the first round from the Brooklyn Academy of Music on Monday night, April 14.
Davis becomes the fifth first round pick for the Rebels and second player selected in the Yolett McPhee-McCuin era.
In two seasons as a Rebel, Davis made a mark on the program in just a short time to become one of the most electrifying players in the SEC. This past season, Davis recorded 25 games in double-figure scoring and led Ole Miss with an average of 14.6 points per game. At the SEC Tournament, Davis eclipsed the 1,000 career-point threshold and became the 36th player in school history to reach the mark.
Grabbing attention during SEC action due to her mesmerizing play, Davis totaled six of her eight 20-point performances this season against conference foes. Davis and teammate Madison Scott became the 16th and 17th Rebels to earn First Team All-SEC accolades. In conference play.
This past season with Davis leading the charge, Ole Miss set a new school record with 12 SEC wins and reached 20 wins for the third straight season. As a team, the Rebels kept a school record 11 opponents under 50-points and proved its defensive prowess with a single-season record of 190 blocks as a team.
