TULSA, Okla. — Ole Miss men’s tennis won four matches Sunday at the ITA Men’s All-American Championships at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, according to the university’s athletics department.
Freshman Vlado Jankanj opened the day with a straight-set win over Indiana’s Benjamin Pomerantes, 6-3, 6-3, in the Round of 128. He was eliminated in the next round by Penn’s Shaurya Bhardwaj, 7-5, 6-3.
Senior Moritz Kudernatsch also advanced past the Round of 128, defeating Wisconsin’s Thomas Zlatohlavek, 6-7, 6-3, 6-0. Kudernatsch then fell in the Round of 64 to Dayton’s Kyle McNally, 5-7, 6-4, 6-4.
Pietro Pampanin earned a three-set victory in the Round of 128, beating Kentucky’s Rafael Ymer, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. In consolation action, Ole Miss’s Kai Milburn defeated Tulsa’s Brett Gloria, 6-4, 6-0.
The Rebels will continue competing in Tulsa throughout the week, with more matches scheduled at the tournament, which features top collegiate players from across the country.
