Ole Miss Women’s Basketball Holds First Practice of 2026-27 Season

Ole Miss women’s basketball officially kicked off its 2026-27 season with its first practice of the year on September 22 at the Tuohy Basketball Center in Oxford, Mississippi, according to university athletics.

Head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin, entering her fifth season, spoke to the media ahead of practice, highlighting the team’s talent and depth. She said she is excited to see how Team 52 develops during training camp and into the season.

Among the players present were transfers Talaysia Cooper from Tennessee and Jada Richard from LSU. Both bring significant SEC experience to the young Rebel roster. They discussed the importance of team chemistry and said the team is already ahead of schedule in building cohesion.

Ole Miss is scheduled to open its season on Nov. 2 at 11 a.m. against Alcorn State at the SJB Pavilion. The game is part of the team’s annual Kids Day event. The Rebels have made the NCAA tournament five consecutive years and continue to aim for success this season.
