Mississippi State’s 2026 Baseball Alumni Making Waves in Pro Leagues

Mississippi State University has a rich history of producing professional baseball talent. In 2026, 51 former Bulldogs are active in professional baseball, including eight Major League Baseball players, according to the school’s athletic department.

Among the notable MLB players are All-Stars Adam Frazier, Brent Rooker, Jordan Westburg, and Brandon Woodruff, as well as World Series champion Nathaniel Lowe. MSU has produced 72 Major League players, 13 All-Stars, seven World Series champions, and 21 first-round draft picks throughout its history, the school said.

Several alumni are making their mark this season. Justin Foscue of the Texas Rangers is hitting .271 with 11 home runs. Adam Frazier of the Los Angeles Angels recently singled in a game against the Mariners. Nathaniel Lowe of the Cleveland Guardians went 2-for-4 with an RBI in a game against the Twins. Brent Rooker, also with the Athletics, is sidelined for the season after knee surgery. Jordan Westburg of the Baltimore Orioles underwent Tommy John surgery and will miss the season.

On the pitching side, Jurrangelo Cijntje of the Memphis Redbirds has struck out 162 batters and ranks second in Minor League strikeouts. Konnor Pilkington, a free agent, was released by the Washington Nationals in August. Landon Sims of the Reno Aces has worked 1 1/3 scoreless innings and is currently on the development list. Other alumni continue to compete across various levels, including Double-A and Single-A teams, with some participating in the Arizona Fall League.

Mississippi State officials noted that their former players continue to excel and develop professionally, showcasing the program’s ongoing impact on baseball at all levels.
