Mississippi State Volleyball Opens SEC Play Against LSU at The Griss

STARKVILLE, Miss. — The Mississippi State volleyball team will open SEC play at 2 p.m. Sunday against LSU at The Grissom Building. The Bulldogs are on an eight-match winning streak, having defeated Louisiana, Jackson State, and UT Arlington in straight sets at the Ragin’ Cajuns Classic, according to team sources.

Mississippi State (10-1, 0-0 SEC) aims to extend its winning streak against LSU (6-4, 1-0 SEC), which is coming off a five-set victory over Alabama. The match will be streamed live on SECN+.

Fans are encouraged to attend in camouflage for SEC open season festivities. The first 200 fans will receive a free camo rally towel, and the first 250 will get a free koozie, team officials said.

In recent matches, Lindsey Mangelson became the fastest Bulldog to reach 500 career kills during her eight-kill game against Louisiana. The team also held UT Arlington to a hitting percentage below .100 throughout the match.

LSU has won six straight matches by holding opponents under a .200 hitting percentage and recording double-digit blocks. Outside hitter Jurnee Robinson led LSU with 22 kills and added a double-double with 12 digs in the last match. Sannaa Donaie has posted seven blocks in her last three games.
