MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Mississippi State volleyball extended its winning streak to four matches Friday with a straight-set victory over Alcorn State. The Bulldogs defeated the Lady Braves 25-8, 25-19, 25-16, in the non-conference match.
The Bulldogs hit a season-best .351 as a team and recorded only seven attacking errors, their fewest this season, according to team statistics. Thirteen players saw action in the contest, with Lindsey Mangelson leading with 13 kills and a .480 attack percentage. She also scored 13.5 points, extending her streak of 10-plus kill games to seven.
Sydnie Waller posted a season-high seven kills, while Paloma Routaboul added seven kills of her own. Freshman Cassidy Cage, making her first start, contributed five kills and three blocks, and Gha’Naye Whitfield-Moss finished with six kills and two solo blocks. McKenna Yates led the team with 15 digs, her seventh consecutive match with 10 or more digs.
Cayley Hanson directed the offense with 32 assists, and freshman Adrianna Jeanpierre added two assists after entering the second set.
