Cary, North Carolina – Mississippi State University tennis players Athina Pitta and Gianna Oboniye are set to compete in the ITA All-American Championships from Sept. 19-27. The duo will begin their fall tournament schedule in the prequalifying rounds of doubles on Saturday, according to athletic communications from the university.

Pitta and Oboniye enter the tournament aiming to build on their successful 2026 spring campaign. The pair posted a 7-4 record together during the dual match season, including three wins over ranked opponents, the school said.

Following their doubles matches, Oboniye will start her singles competition on Monday in the qualifying rounds. The tournament will be held in Cary, with live streaming and scoring available through links provided by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

The ITA All-American Championships are scheduled to run through Sept. 27, with prequalifying matches on Sept. 19-20, qualifying rounds on Sept. 21-22, and the main draw from Sept. 23-27. Mississippi State’s women’s tennis program is continuing preparations for the season, which also includes a fall schedule announced earlier this month.
