Bulldogs return to AP Top 25 rankings

Dec 9, 2024- After victories over then No. 18 Pitt and Prairie View A&M, Mississippi State men’s basketball has returned to the Associated Press Top 25 rankings.

The Bulldogs (8-1) check in at No. 25 and are one of nine SEC squads in this week’s edition of the poll. State is joined by No. 1 Tennessee, No. 2 Auburn, No. 5 Kentucky, No. 7 Alabama, No. 9 Florida, No. 13 Oklahoma, No. 17 Texas A&M and No. 19 Ole Miss.

The 33-point triumph over No. 18 Pitt was the largest margin of victory over a ranked opponent in program history and the largest win margin in the two-year event of the SEC/ACC Challenge by any team.
