Ole Miss Women’s Golf Heads to 2026 NCAA Championship in California

The University of Mississippi women’s golf team is set to compete in the 2026 NCAA Championship at the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California. The event begins on Friday, May 22, and runs through May 27.

The NCAA Championship includes 30 teams and six individuals from non-qualifying teams. Players will compete in 54 holes of stroke play over three days. The top 15 teams and nine individuals from non-advancing teams will then play an additional day of stroke play to determine the top eight. Those eight teams will advance to match play to crown the national champion.

The tournament schedule features three days of stroke play from May 22 to 24, followed by an elimination round on May 25. The final day, May 27, will be dedicated to match play. Ole Miss’s lineup includes Kajsalotta Svarvar, Mary Miller, Sophie Linder, Matilda Björkman, and Filippa Sundquist.

Svarvar, a sophomore, leads the team with a 71.34 scoring average and has posted 19 rounds at or below par this season. Miller, also a sophomore, has a 71.66 average and has shot 15 rounds under par. The Rebels have had success this season, earning six top-five finishes and two team titles, including a victory at the Cougar Classic in September.

Ole Miss advanced to the NCAA Championship for the seventh time in program history after a strong regional performance. The team’s previous appearances include a national title in 2021, when they defeated Oklahoma State in the final. Head coach Kory Henkes has led the Rebels to four straight NCAA appearances.

Senior Nicole Gal and other team members have contributed to the team’s success. Miller, in her first season with Ole Miss after transferring from Georgia Southern, has been a team leader and earned second-team All-SEC honors. Freshman Matilda Björkman from Sweden has made an immediate impact, finishing T3 at her first collegiate tournament.

Ole Miss is among a competitive field that includes Stanford, Oklahoma State, Auburn, Texas, and other top programs. Fans can follow live scoring updates on the NCAA website and stay connected with the team via social media.
