Sasso and Brown earn SSAC weekly awards

Blue Mountain Christian University’s Gigi Sasso and Reanna Brown were named SSAC Volleyball Players of the Week, the home office announced today.

Sasso earned the Attacker of the Week while Brown got the nod for Setter of the Week.  It is Sasso’s third-career honor and Brown’s second.

Sasso collected 22 kills (4.4 per set) at a .356 clip with 12 digs on the week, while also picking up her sixth double-double of the season in Saturday’s win.

Brown dished out 37 assists on the week in the 6-2 rotation, earning 6.2 assists per set with 20 digs across two matches.

Blue Mountain’s two wins on the week were both 3-0 sweeps in SSAC play over Stillman and Mobile.

“I’m very proud of these two ladies and what they have accomplished thus far,” BMCU head coach Reid Gann said.  “They have been a vital part of our current success and know how to win.  We’re anticipating they will continue to play well down the stretch.”

BMCU currently stands at 11-1 overall and 5-0 in conference play.
