Mississippi Valley State Sports Set for Busy Week in Jackson and Itta Bena

Mississippi Valley State University prepares for a busy week of athletic events, with teams competing in Jackson and Itta Bena. The Delta Devils’ volleyball team opens the week Wednesday evening, hosting Jackson State at the R.W. Harrison HPER Complex at 6 p.m., according to school officials.

The team continues its home schedule Friday, facing Florida A&M at 6 p.m., and concludes the week Sunday at noon against Bethune-Cookman. All matches are held at the HPER Complex in Itta Bena. Meanwhile, the men’s and women’s tennis teams travel to Jackson for the ITA SWAC Conference Masters on October 2 and 3, providing another chance to compete against conference rivals during the fall season.

On Saturday, the cross-country teams participate in the Belhaven Invitational in Jackson. The same day, the football team returns home to Rice-Totten Stadium to face Prairie View A&M at 2 p.m. in Southwestern Athletic Conference action, according to the university’s athletic department.
