Millsaps Volleyball Dominates Non-Conference Play at Millsaps/Belhaven Invitational

The Millsaps College volleyball team posted a strong performance over the weekend at the Millsaps/Belhaven Invitational, sweeping Centenary College, Huntingdon College, and Principia College. The team also defeated LeTourneau University in a five-set match inside the Hangar Dome, according to school officials.

In the opening match Friday, Millsaps defeated Centenary 3-0, with standout performances from junior Zoë LaCaze and sophomore Madelynn Sasser. LaCaze recorded eight kills with a .667 hitting percentage and five blocks, while Sasser added nine kills and four digs. Senior Rachel Zamjahn contributed 15 assists and two service aces.

The team continued its winning streak Saturday, beating Principia College in three sets. Sophomore Tatum Husby led with 10 kills and a .333 attack percentage. Senior Caroline Russo dished out 12 assists and added three aces. The Majors also defeated Huntingdon College in straight sets, with Duncan recording 14 kills and Bohl hitting .545 for the match.

The most dramatic contest came against LeTourneau University, which Millsaps won 3-2. Duncan led the team with 21 kills and 22.5 points. Senior Sandy Bourgeois posted a career-high 50 digs, and Ware finished with 29 assists. Millsaps fought back from a 2-1 set deficit to secure the win, with key contributions from LaCaze, Sasser, and others in the decisive fifth set.

Looking ahead, the team is scheduled to host United States Sports University on Friday, Sept. 18, at 6 p.m. at the Hangar Dome. Live stats and streaming will be available, and fans can follow the team on social media for updates.
