Alcorn State Tennis Opens Season at Jackson Invitational

JACKSON, Miss. — The Alcorn State tennis team wrapped up competition at the JSU Invitational with several notable performances, according to team officials.

Hilb Kovalenko and Vicent Llobell each finished the tournament with perfect 3-0 singles records. Gloria Jovic and Oilhane Villanueva led the team in singles wins, each posting a 2-1 record.

In doubles, Emre Atlamis and Kovalenko teamed up to go 2-1, while Ronaldo Vera and Zenteno also finished with a 2-1 record. Overall, Alcorn finished with a 9-13 singles record and a 5-7 doubles record at the event.

The team is set to compete next at the HBCU National Championship in Atlanta, Georgia, from Sept. 17-20, according to team officials.
