Jackson State Women’s Soccer Players Earn SWAC Weekly Honors

Jackson, Miss. — Three players from Jackson State women’s soccer earned Southwestern Athletic Conference weekly honors following a successful weekend of matches.

Ryanne Hawthorn-Harper was named SWAC Offensive Player of the Week after scoring once in each game and assisting against Middle Tennessee. The graduate student led the Tigers’ offense during their victories over Austin Peay and Middle Tennessee.

Mikayla Sturkey received SWAC Defensive Player of the Week honors for her role in anchoring the defense and recording a team save during the weekend. Meanwhile, Taylor Osborn was named SWAC Goalkeeper of the Week after making 23 total saves across two matches, including eight against Austin Peay and 15 versus Middle Tennessee. Osborn only allowed two goals in both games combined.

The Tigers are scheduled to open conference play against Southern University on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the JSU Soccer Field.
