Tom Fischer shares individual title as No. 13 Ole Miss men’s golf ties for team championship at Mossy Oak

WEST POINT, Miss. — Tom Fischer of Ole Miss shot a 2-under-par 70 in the final round to share medalist honors Tuesday at the Mossy Oak Collegiate, helping the No. 13 Rebels tie Mississippi State for the team title.

Fischer posted his sixth consecutive round under par, finishing with a total score of 8-under 208. He birdied his final five holes, turning in a final round of 70 that secured his second career individual victory, according to school officials.

Ole Miss finished with a team score of 847, 17 under par, matching Mississippi State in the standings. This marked the Rebels’ second team win of the season and the 11th tournament victory under coach Chris Malloy during his tenure.

Senior Cameron Tankersley also had a strong showing, shooting even par on Tuesday to finish at 4-under overall, tied for seventh. The Trolio brothers, Cohen and Collins, posted rounds of 73 and 72, respectively, finishing at 3-under and 2-under par, placing them in the top 15.

Ole Miss will prepare for the SEC Championship, scheduled for April 22-26 at Sea Island Golf Club. The team has won 14 titles under Malloy, who was named Golfweek coach of the year this season, and has produced 28 individual winners since his arrival.
