Southern Miss Volleyball to Play Exhibition Match at Mississippi State
HATTIESBURG, Miss. — Southern Miss Volleyball is scheduled to face Mississippi State in an exhibition match Saturday at 2 p.m. in Starkville. The Golden Eagles are coming off a 17-12 season in 2025, including an 8-8 record in Sun Belt Conference play.
Head coach Jenny Hazelwood, in her fifth season, has guided Southern Miss to a 59-60 overall record over the past four seasons. The team returns most of its roster, including first-team all-conference outside hitter Sadie McAda and third-team libero Suni Sheppard, both seniors. In 2025, McAda ranked fourth in the Sun Belt with 387 kills, while Sheppard led with 4.40 digs per set.
The roster also features postseason starters senior Maggie Sewell and juniors Aubrey Judd and Elly Stewart. Several returning players include juniors Kaylle Lowther, Lindsey Smith, Lillie Johnson and Morgan Durgens, along with sophomores Sophie Sosa, Tarah Yunes, Ella Ward, Diana Wells and Miranda Holincheck. The team will add four newcomers, including senior transfer Allie Hazelwood from USC and freshmen Reese Warren, Bennet Boulo and Alyssa Dampier.
Mississippi State finished 16-10 overall in 2025, with a 6-9 SEC record. The last matchup between the two programs was on Sept. 14, 2025, in Hattiesburg, where Mississippi State won 3-1. Live stats for Saturday’s game are available at https://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=670215.
