Southern Miss-Virginia Baseball Game Moved Up Due to Rain Forecast
The NCAA Hattiesburg Regional game between Southern Miss and Virginia has been moved up two hours to 1 p.m. Saturday due to forecasted rain showers, according to university athletics officials.
The game, originally scheduled for a later time, will now start earlier to avoid the expected late-afternoon showers. The winner’s bracket contest between Jacksonville State and Little Rock remains scheduled for 8 p.m.
Gates at Pete Taylor Park are set to open at 11 a.m., and parking will begin at 10 a.m., according to the university. The game change was made to ensure the contest proceeds without weather-related disruptions.
Organizers continue to monitor the weather forecast, and additional updates will be provided if necessary. The regional is part of the NCAA tournament, with Southern Miss hosting the event at Pete Taylor Park.
