Southern Miss Baseball to Face Mississippi State in Fall Exhibition in Biloxi
The University of Southern Mississippi baseball team will play an exhibition game against Mississippi State on Saturday, Oct. 10, at Keesler Federal Park in Biloxi. The game is part of the Hancock Whitney Coast Classic and is scheduled to start at 2 p.m., according to school officials.
Ticket prices start at $24 for students and Biloxi Shucker Season Ticket Members in the reserved section, and $26 for the general public. Tickets are available online, the university said.
Southern Miss coach Christian Ostrander, in his fourth year leading the team, expressed enthusiasm for the matchup. “We are looking forward to playing Mississippi State on the coast this fall,” Ostrander said. “We expect a tremendous crowd for this contest as it will give both fan bases a glimpse of their teams before next spring.”
This game will be the only outside exhibition contest scheduled for the Golden Eagles this fall. The team’s first official fall practice is set for Sept. 21 and will run for six weeks, culminating in the annual Fall Intrasquad World Series, a best-of-five series.
