Ole Miss Women’s Basketball Defeats Mississippi State by 25 Points
Ole Miss women’s basketball defeated Mississippi State 93-68 on Sunday at the Sandy & John Black Pavilion in Oxford, Mississippi. The Rebels, ranked 18th/17th nationally, improved to 16-3 overall and 3-1 in SEC play. The Bulldogs fell to 14-4 and 1-3 in conference.
The 25-point margin was the Rebels’ largest against Mississippi State since Feb. 19, 1997, and their highest scoring output against the Bulldogs since 1994. The game began with a quick start from Iwuala and McMahon, who helped Ole Miss build an early lead. The Rebels led 21-17 after the first quarter and extended that advantage to 50-35 by halftime. Ole Miss shot 63.6% in the first half, its best of the season.
In the second half, Ole Miss maintained control, with Iwuala and McMahon continuing to lead offensively. Latasha Lattimore shined in the fourth quarter, scoring 11 points and hitting a three-pointer. The Bulldogs scored 20 points in the final quarter but could not close the gap, and Ole Miss secured the win with a final score of 93-68.
