Ole Miss Volleyball Receives 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award

The University of Mississippi volleyball program has been honored with the 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award, the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced this week. To qualify, teams must maintain a minimum 3.3 GPA on a 4.0 scale throughout the year, according to the AVCA.

This marks the fifth consecutive year and the ninth time in program history that Ole Miss has received the award. The team’s academic success continues under head coach Bre Henry. Recent graduate Cammy Niesen was named SEC Scholar Athlete of the Year and nominated for the SEC H. Boyd McWhorter Scholar-Athlete Postgraduate Scholarship. Sophomore Bella Bonanno boasts a 4.0 GPA.

The Rebels will begin their season with an exhibition match at Arkansas State on Aug. 22. Their regular-season opener is set for Aug. 28 at home against Southeastern Louisiana. Fans are encouraged to support the team through the ACE Club, which helps fund the program’s competitive efforts. Additionally, supporters can join Rebel Rewards, the official fan loyalty program, by downloading the Ole Miss Sports mobile app.

Ole Miss Volleyball maintains a strong social media presence, including on X, Instagram, and Facebook, where fans can access behind-the-scenes content and stay updated on team news.
