Ole Miss’ Trinidad Chambliss, Kewan Lacy Named to Maxwell Award Watch List

The Maxwell Football Club announced its watch list for the 90th Maxwell Award on Monday, including Ole Miss players Trinidad Chambliss and Kewan Lacy. The award is presented annually to the most outstanding offensive player in college football.

Chambliss, who was a semifinalist for the award last year, is among the top returning quarterbacks nationally. Last season, he threw for 3,937 yards and 22 touchdowns and added 527 yards and eight scores on the ground. He is also a semifinalist for the 2025 Walter Camp Player of the Year Award and has earned preseason All-SEC First Team honors.

Lacy, a first-team All-American in 2025, set program records with 1,567 rushing yards and 24 touchdowns. He was a finalist for the 2025 Doak Walker Award. Lacy also earned a preseason first-team All-SEC nod and is now on the Maxwell Award watch list, marking him as one of the nation’s top running backs.

Ole Miss is one of 16 schools with multiple players on the preseason watch list. Semifinalists for the Maxwell Award will be announced Nov. 10, with the finalists revealed Nov. 24. The award winner will be announced Dec. 10 during ESPN’s College Football Awards Show.

The Rebels will open the 2026 season Sept. 6 against Louisville at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.
