Ole Miss Soccer’s Isabella Pontieri Named to Hermann Trophy Midfielders Watch List

OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss soccer midfielder Isabella Pontieri has been named to the 2026 Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy NCAA Division I Women’s Players to Watch List, the United Soccer Coaches announced Thursday.

Pontieri is one of 45 midfielders nationally to earn a spot on the list and is one of seven from the Southeastern Conference. She transferred to Ole Miss from North Florida, where she played three seasons.

During her time at North Florida from 2023 to 2025, Pontieri appeared in 57 matches, scored 14 goals, and recorded 12 assists over more than 2,700 minutes on the field, according to school officials. She earned First Team All-ASUN honors in 2025 after leading the conference in assists (10), shots on goal (44), total shots (101), and game-winning goals (5). She finished sixth in total goals scored with eight.

The Hermann Trophy watch list highlights top players nationwide as the college soccer season approaches. The award is considered one of the most prestigious in collegiate soccer. Ole Miss officials said the recognition underscores Pontieri’s impact on the field and her potential to compete at the highest level.

Ole Miss is set to open its 2026 season on August 12 against Murray State. The team will look to build on its recent success as it prepares for the upcoming campaign.
