OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss soccer will play its first road game of the 2026 season Sunday in Lafayette, Louisiana, against the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m., according to university sources.
The Rebels, led by first-year head coach Todd Shulenberger, will look to improve on last season’s 4-8-3 record. Ole Miss leads the all-time series with Louisiana, 7-0, with the teams last meeting in September 2025.
Ole Miss opened its season with a 1-0 victory over Murray State on Wednesday. Katie Ramsden scored her first goal of the season in the 63rd minute, and goalkeeper Taylor Prigge recorded the shutout, making one save. The Rebels outshot the Racers 22-4 and held a 10-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Louisiana finished the 2025 season with a 7-6-5 record and went 4-3-3 in Sun Belt Conference play. The Ragin’ Cajuns scored 33 goals last season, led by Carson Glenn and Miku Kurihara, who each netted seven goals. They opened the 2026 campaign with a 4-1 win over Southeastern Louisiana, with Kurihara and Glenn contributing to the offense.
The Rebels return several key players, including Ramsden, who led in goals and points last season, and goalkeeper Prigge, who posted a team-best .750 save percentage in 2025. Ole Miss also added 17 newcomers this season, including transfers from Washington State and Appalachian State, as well as three freshmen.
Shulenberger, hired in December after coaching at Washington State for 11 seasons, has begun implementing his new system. He previously led the Cougars to five NCAA Tournament appearances and their first College Cup in 2019.
Ole Miss has been honored with five players named to the SEC preseason watch list, including transfer Isabella Pontieri, who also made the Hermann Trophy watch list. The team’s roster features student-athletes from 16 states and England, adding depth and experience to the squad.
