Ole Miss Quarterback Trinidad Chambliss Named to Davey O’Brien Preseason Watch List

Fort Worth, Texas – The Davey O’Brien Foundation announced its preseason watch list for the 2026 Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award on Thursday, including Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss. A semifinalist for the award in 2025, Chambliss is among the top returning quarterbacks nationally.

Last season, Chambliss threw for 3,937 yards and 22 touchdowns while rushing for 527 yards and eight scores. He has received multiple preseason honors, including placement on watch lists for the Walter Camp Player of the Year and Maxwell Awards. Several outlets have also named him a preseason first-team All-American and a preseason All-SEC selection by coaches, media, Athlon, and Phil Steele.

Ole Miss has previously had six semifinalists for the Davey O’Brien Award, including Bo Wallace in 2014, Matt Corral in 2021, and Jaxson Dart in 2023 and 2024. Eli Manning was a finalist for the award in 2003. Semifinalists for the 2026 award will be announced on Nov. 17, with the three finalists revealed on Nov. 24. The award winner will be announced during ESPN’s College Football Awards show on Dec. 11.

The Rebels are coming off a College Football Playoff semifinal appearance last season. They will open the 2026 season against Louisville on Sept. 6 at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee, with kickoff scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Central Time.
