Ole Miss Football Lands Eight on Preseason All-SEC Teams
The University of Mississippi football team was honored with eight preseason All-SEC selections, the conference announced Wednesday. The SEC coaches named seven players to the first, second, and third teams, matching the media’s preseason picks from July.
Quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, running back Kewan Lacy, and defensive lineman Will Echoles were all named to the first team, the same as the media preseason honors. Linebacker Suntarine Perkins made the second team, while Lucas Carneiro was selected as both place kicker and kickoff specialist. Offensive lineman Patrick Kutas and defensive lineman Kam Franklin earned spots on the third team.
The Rebels, coming off a College Football Playoff semifinal appearance last season, are scheduled to open the 2026 season on Sunday, September 6. They will face Louisville at 6:30 p.m. CT at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.
Ole Miss is ranked No. 9 in the preseason AP poll for 2026. The team continues to prepare for the upcoming season with practices and media events, as well as various sponsorship and branding initiatives, including a new partnership with Progressive Insurance.
Additional details, including game schedules and player updates, are available through the university’s athletics website and official social media channels.
