Ole Miss Baseball Heads to Auburn for 2026 Super Regional

Ole Miss baseball will compete in the NCAA Super Regional for the first time since 2022, traveling to Auburn, Alabama, to face the No. 4 nationally ranked Tigers. The series begins Friday at 7 p.m. Central Time, with Saturday’s game set for 4 p.m. If necessary, a third game will be scheduled.

The Rebels (39-21) advanced to the Super Regional after sweeping through the Lincoln Regional last weekend. They defeated Arizona State in 14 innings, finished a suspended game against Nebraska, and topped the Sun Devils again in 10 innings to secure their first regional title since 2022, according to sources.

Ole Miss’s bullpen posted a 2.12 ERA during the regional, allowing four earned runs with 15 strikeouts over 17 innings. Hudson Calhoun earned the win on Friday and recorded a save on Sunday, allowing just one hit in 4.2 innings. Hayden Federico led the offense with a .474 batting average during the regional, while Brayden Randle hit .429 with three RBIs.

Hunter Elliott, the Rebels’ starting pitcher, became the first in program history to record three 100-strikeout seasons. He is scheduled to face Auburn’s Andreas Alvarez in Friday’s opener. Rabe leads the SEC in strikeout-to-walk ratio and has issued only 10 walks all season, according to team sources.

Auburn (42-20) enters the series guided by head coach Butch Thompson, who has led the Tigers to five Super Regional appearances since 2017. Auburn lost its regional opener but rebounded to beat Milwaukee, NC State, and UCF to advance. The Tigers’ strengths include a 3.62 team ERA and a potent pitching staff led by Jackson Sanders and Andreas Alvarez. Offensively, Chase Fralick and Ethin Bingaman have combined for 35 home runs this season.

The winner of the series will advance to the College World Series, with the matchup set for June 12. The games will be broadcast on ESPN2 and ESPN, with radio coverage available on the Ole Miss Radio Network.
