Hinds Names 138 Student-Athletes to 2024-25 Honor Roll

Raymond, Miss. — Hinds Community College has announced its Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2024-25 academic year, with a record 138 student-athletes recognized. The number exceeds half of the college’s total student-athlete enrollment, according to Assistant Athletic Director Andrew Gunn and Athletic Director Nathan Werremeyer.

To qualify, athletes must have maintained a minimum 3.0 grade point average and completed at least 12 credit hours. The list also highlights teams with the highest GPAs, as well as those with students earning a 4.0 GPA for the semester. Overall, 19 student-athletes finished with a perfect 4.0 GPA, led by four from softball.

The baseball team led all sports with 25 honorees, followed by football with 19 and softball with 14. Other teams with multiple selections included men’s soccer with 11, women’s soccer with 10, men’s track with 10, and women’s basketball with eight. Smaller squads included men’s tennis with six and men’s golf with two.

Team GPAs were also competitive. Baseball posted the highest team GPA at 3.17, with women’s track close behind at 3.10. Softball’s team GPA was 3.06. A full list of honorees, sorted by sport, is available. The college also will release its President’s and Vice President’s lists in the coming weeks. Athletes with a 4.0 GPA are marked with an asterisk.
